Thickness follows use. Four inches over a properly compacted base for cars, six where a hoist, a workshop or a heavier vehicle is in the plan.

Coatings work well on a sound, dry slab and make winter mess far easier to deal with. They need moisture testing first, because a coating applied over concrete still pushing vapour upward will lift from below whatever was done to the surface.
