Concrete garage floors and pads in Mississauga
A garage slab from Mississauga's dominant 1961-to-1990 building era is not automatically a problem, but it is very often missing a vapour barrier that would be considered standard on a newer pour. The concrete does not dry out and stay dry on its own; without a barrier it keeps drawing moisture from the ground below for as long as that moisture is there. A coating job that skips checking for that is effectively gambling on the one failure mode that causes almost every blister and peel we see.
Polyaspartic is a poor barrier against rising moisture on its own, no matter how well it cures or how well it resists tires. Epoxy fixes exactly that weakness when it is built as a base coat, curing slower but managing moisture directly, while polyaspartic finishes the job on top with a faster cure and far better wear resistance under hot tires and sunlight.
Those marks on the floor are not dirt. They are plasticizers that migrated out of the tire rubber under heat and bonded into a coating that had not yet finished curing. Keeping the car out until the coating has actually finished curing, not merely dried, is the one dependable safeguard.
Structurally, fibre handles ordinary shrinkage across the whole pour, and rebar is placed specifically over backfill left from the original foundation excavation or beneath a lift's footing. Being under a roof does not exempt a Mississauga garage from winter either: an unheated attached space still swings with the outside temperature closely enough to freeze and thaw the way an open driveway does, and the salt a car brings in builds up on one small patch of floor rather than washing across a wide surface.
