Concrete Pool Decks Project Photos

Pool decks carry a different set of demands than a patio or driveway: they need to stay cool enough to walk on barefoot, grip well when wet, and shed water away from the pool shell rather than back into it. The photos here show the finishes we use to solve for that, mainly salt finish, which broadcasts coarse rock salt into the surface before it sets and washes out to leave a lightly pitted, cooler texture, along with broom and exposed-aggregate finishes where more traction matters.

Every deck is graded away from the coping on all sides, and isolated from the pool structure itself with an expansion joint so the two surfaces can move independently through freeze-thaw cycles without cracking each other. A pool deck like the ones shown typically takes 4 to 7 days from demolition or excavation to final seal, and pricing runs $14 to $28 per sq ft depending on finish and the amount of excavation around existing pool equipment and irrigation lines.
