A pool deck's grading has to solve two directions at once, away from the coping and away from the house, not the single fall a patio needs, and Niagara Falls' mix of a mild average winter with genuinely heavier lake-effect snowfall than St. Catharines makes it worth getting that grading right the first time. Bare feet on a hot, slick surface next to water is a worse combination than anywhere else on a property, so exposed aggregate or a light salt finish generally beats stamped concrete here, the finish that looks the best of the three in photos but grips the worst once sealed and runs hottest in a dark colour.
